1-Minute Popsicle

Like most moms, I try to have healthy options for my kids’ after school snacks.

Like most moms working outside of the home, I don’t have a ton of time to make all my snacks from scratch. Any time I can find a quick way to make something that I feel good about serving, I’m all for it!

It’s especially nice when they’ll joyfully gobble it down without complaint!

My original popsicle plan: blend up a delicious smoothie, use these fantastic silicone molds from Sunsella, and serve to my kids with a smile.

This plan is great for the summertime when we’re all on break, but then school happens. And work happens. And, well, life just happens.

I’m so thankful for my grocery store revelation…use a premade smoothie!

The mom guilt set in at first thought, but then I asked myself…why not?

Why not let myself off the hook a little and still serve my kids a snack they’ll be stoked about?!

In about 1-minute I can…

….shake up that smoothie.

…pour it in the molds leaving about an inch at the top for the lid to fit on.

…pop them in the freezer using my Sunsella stand.

The freezer does the rest.

It’s a win-win situation. My kids are happy, it’s better than the typical popsicles the kids beg for, and I don’t have half the stress of trying to do it all from scratch.

And here’s why I’m so glad to be part of this MADE community. We give each other the permission to do what works for us today.

If you want to try the popsicle the 1-minute way, great!

If you want to hit your local farmer’s market and find some awesome, in-season fruit and veggies to blend up for these pops, great!

And if you want to buy a healthy popsicle from the grocery store, great!

Heck, if you want to buy the sugariest, “junk” popsicle, that’s great too! No guilt required.
